Cape May Lighthouse is on the southernmost tip of New Jersey.

It stands on what was today, at least, a long, lonely stretch of beach.

The sand was white and soft; not at all like the dark ,course sands of Washington beaches.

Joy and Anna Lyn making their way barefoot across the sands in eager anticipation of getting their toes into the Atlantic Ocean!
Ahhhh! First time for all 3 of us to feel the warm Atlantic Ocean splash over our feet!

.....and up our legs!

WWII bunker!

Joy and I (Shirley) ate the best corn dogs we have ever tasted! The batter was thick, airy and crisp :-)

This tower was built in 1859, the third of 3 lighthouses to grace this point., where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean.

There are 199 steps from bottom to top, and guess who climbed them today?!?! We three old ladies made it to the top for some spectacular views, and strong winds!

The beacon

Proof in the pudding that we made it !
